Camp Dates:  June 18th through August
(Due to the amount of boat traffic on the 4th of July, we do not hold camp this day. Camp for the 4th of July week is pro-rated to $316.)

Safety:  Is our number one priority.  All participants wear life vests whenever near or on the water.  Swimming experience is desired but not essential.  A minimum of two counselors are on the water with the campers, ensuring their safety.

Westport Camps

Paddlers in our Westport camps get to experience all of our demo boards, even the racing ones! They’ll also learn about the finesse and technique that makes paddle boarding and kayaking so exhilarating, from pivot turns to prone paddling, and even how to do a headstand. Camp is a great place to have fun and gain paddling skill; many of our older campers grow up to be dock hands and counselors themselves! The regular rate for these three-hours camps is $395 per week.

  • Dudes – 9 – 12 yrs, Westport 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Dawgs – 12+ yrs, Westport 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Rowayton Camps

At our Rowayton location, paddlers cover lots of ‘ground’ and even get to visit the nearby islands! Campers also engage in a wide variety of games to develop confidence, coordination, and creativity. Regardless of their previous experience, all paddlers leave camp with new skills and plenty of memories. The regular rate for these three-hour camps is $395 per week.

  • Kiwis – 6 – 8 yrs, Rowayton 9:30-12:30 p.m.
  • Dudes – 9 – 12 yrs, Rowayton 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Weed Beach Camps

Weed Beach in Darien features plenty of islands, coves, and harbors, including Vincent Island and Holly Pond, to keep campers excited and exploring throughout the week. While on the water, campers learn new paddling skills from our experienced staff and play games focused on development and fun. The regular rate for these two-hour camps is $265 per week.

  • Dudes – 9 – 12 yrs, Weed Beach 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Dawgs – 12+ yrs, Weed Beach 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

In the Downunder summer program, our focus is on an easy, safe, and fun paddling experience. Campers are welcome regardless of previous experience, and our seasoned counselors will teach each child new skills appropriate to their age and ability.

Paddlers learn through games and activities such as relays, board/boat swapping, capsizes and rescues, jousting, piano keys… we’ve got scores of creative ways to teach! By the end of the week, they’ll masterfully maneuver in and out of pilings, under bridges, and around buoys and boats while exploring the river with friends.

Depending on their program, campers might paddle to an island, into a lagoon, or upriver to a dam and fish ladder. Along the way, they’ll enjoy water games and team building activities designed to increase balance, coordination, and confidence. Every day is a new adventure with treasure hunts, combing beaches for shells, making our own maritime environments, fishing, snorkeling, swimming, and enjoying the wildlife!

What do paddlers learn in camp?

  • How to fall off, and get back on – safely.

  • Tandems & Towing – how to have fun with another paddler, and be helpful

  • Marine Stewards – with the help of Harborwatch all our paddlers go away informed and actively helping to keep our waterways and wildlife healthy

Other Info…

  • Daily Drop In – former campers may come by the day if there is availability – call 24 hours in advance. $85pp.
  • Weather – Camp runs regardless of weather in our Rowayton location. In Westport it does not. We offer a credit towards services (rentals, lessons, parties etc) to be used in that calendar year. In Rowayton, if we don’t think they will get enough time on the water to make it worth their while, we take them to Earthplace* where our counselors will meet you. We will email you at least an hour and a half before camp. *We have created a cool program with Harborwatch at Earthplace that develops environment awareness and responsibility and ties back to the water they paddle in. They get to test our local waterways to determine how healthy they are, create their own geocache, explore trails, meet and learn about the rescued wildlife they care for. For more info…
