Corporate Activities on the Water

by Kim Hawkins

Whether you’re looking to reward your staff for hard work, completing a project, or celebrating a win, an outing at Downunder is a win-win.

Our paddling options are fun, easy and achievable for all ages and abilities, and can be as challenging or easy as you want.

The team building element is especially popular and valuable as it requires paddlers to work together, or end up in the drink!

Our guides and instructors are very adept at reading groups and determining what activities are best-suited.

They also know how to identify paddlers that need more attention or less, and how to round up the speedsters and direct them so that their energy is best utilized, and the slow pokes aren’t demoralized.

We can create a custom event that involves on land and on water activities, races, relays, tandem paddling, prone, pivot turns – some Managers offer financial incentives or time off as a sweetener in a challenge.

A lesson on kayaking or stand up paddle boarding, or both, can be included to further increase the comfort level of paddlers.

And if you have people that just can’t paddle, we can arrange a boat to transport them to the destination e.g. Cockenoe Island in Westport or Fish Island in Darien.

Outings can include a clambake on an island, appetizers and beverages upon returning to the dock, and breakfast or dinner at any of the local establishments.

Some groups start their outing on the upper deck at the Rowayton Market with breakfast, or end it there enjoying sunset cocktails and appetizers before heading across the road to Sails or up the road to the renowned Rowayton Seafood Restaurant for dinner.
